Unlike my last four records, Current isn’t a jazz record, although it does contain a lot of improvisation. I use a lot of orchestral sounds, but it’s not really classical. There are also a lot of synthetic sounds (both analog and digital), and a bunch of Eno-esque moments, but it’s too active to be considered ambient. And it may seem film-scorish at points, but there’s no film. So I don’t know where it falls, but fans of Hildur Guðnadóttir, Jóhann Jóhannsson, Max Richter, and Nils Frahm might enjoy it.
