I wanted to do an album that featured the soprano saxophone, and was influenced by the sound of the ECM label (Jan Garbarek, etc.). Although I succeeded at the former (thanks to Nelson Rivera and his lovely 1927 Conn), I've only partially succeeded at the latter, as the record gets a bit raucus* at times (certainly more than any self-respecting Norwegian would approve of). It features fantastic playing by Harry Graser, Rob Lynch, and Nelson Rivera. If you like any combination of adventurous piano solos, the SULTRIEST of saxophones, solid grooves, melodic bass solos (on EVERY song!), and Scandinavia, then this record is for you.

* relatively speaking of course — don't expect Motorhead
